The cups come in all sizes and shapes: big, small, wide and narrow. It depends on where and how you have ordered it. The place you go to is what determines the shape of the cup and the type of spoon given to you to eat.

There are three basic shapes of an ice cream cup: round, square and oval. The sizes and styles differ in a large way. When you go to an ice cream parlour, the types of cups used there would generally be specific to the price charged and the quality of the parlour. The road side vendors might give you ice cream in an inexpensive or cheap plastic cup. A high end parlour would serve you ice cream on a plate or a big glass cup according to the dessert you have ordered. The types of cups that are used differ in size and shape when the variety of ice creams increase. A true ice cream lover would definitely appreciate a big bowl of ice cream served with nuts and sauces. The big bowl or the cup adds to the presentation of the ice cream.
Another thing that adds to the over- all look of the served ice cream is the spoon. Long stemmed big bowls with equally long stemmed spoons will guarantee the best presentation. Add to this dollop of your favourite ice cream and sauces and you are set for a very lazy Sunday afternoon fiesta.
A plastic cup with a small plastic spoon leaves you wanting for more. What if you are the types who want to gobble down the ice cream? Then that small plastic spoon might be a deterrent to your intentions, in such cases, big spoon is a very good option. If you are the types who would want to savour the taste of the ice cream with small and patient licks, the way to go is with a small spoon. These are the people who prefer to eat ice cream in cups rather than cone. This way even if you are tempted to try and eat more it would be difficult. Some ice creams are better eaten with leisure, savouring the taste and the flavours. To relish the delicious flavours and sweet taste of your favourite ice cream, it is necessary that it is presented in an appealing manner. The presence of a cheap plastic cup and small tiny cheap plastic spoon doesn’t make for a good presentation. Likewise, a great presentation does not guarantee the best of the quality, but at least the cups and spoons help to enjoy the ice cream.
